Description
Seen as a single entity, this pair of Desert Insects sculptures appears to converge—two forms moving in quiet synchrony, as if caught mid‑dance in an elegant, weightless formation. During her two‑month residency in AlUla, material researcher Ori Orisun Merhav immersed herself in the Nabataean desert landscape, harvesting, studying, transforming, deconstructing, and reconstructing the raw offerings of the region and its palm trees. Through close investigation of palm‑leaf fibers, Ori discovered that as the leaves deteriorate, they harden and shift, naturally assuming sculptural qualities. In their transformation, they carry rhythm, tension, and memory—echoes of the desert’s own slow choreography.Join our mailing list
