The Gateway series sees Lakelin undoing the vessel form, and reconfiguring a language of passage and transformation amidst carved thresholds. Sculpted intuitively and in the moment with no historical referent, form is released from the tensions between natural chaos and cultural containment that characterise her Echoes of Amphora series. These works carry undulations of burr into an altogether different realm.
