Tree of Life Project

The renowned artist Ernst Gamperl (born 1965) has revolutionized the historical technique of turning and set new standards. The exhibition presents Gamperl's "Tree of Life Project" for the first time in Germany: A powerful 230-year-old oak, uprooted by a storm, became creative inspiration in 2008 and the starting point for a ten-year work process. In addition to the objects of the "Tree of Life", the exhibition shows current works of the artist in dialogue with important works of art from the museum's collection.
