There is an immediacy within the making..."'Four Is A Square' thinks about growth in two dimensions. I have used four links within a link to create a chainmail square. There is an immediacy within the making of this work by using copper tube, a readily available material, I can be playful within the making process. Through my own tool development I bend the tube into links on a draw bench in a repetitive process. Made to be handled and played with so that the shape is ever changing this piece can be seen in infinite ways. Like cloud gazing, looking at the piles of chain I can see many imagined creatures animals and mythical monsters." - Lucie Gledhill1of 11
