Description
This cuboid seat is slab-built, consisting of 6 slabs. It is hand-built and gentle curves have been encouraged to soften the rigidity of the planes and lines of the cuboid form. All the seats are concave to create greater comfort. The clay is a natural clay used to make bricks – Etruria marl. It is high-fired and therefore completely environmentally resilient. A firing crack has been fully restored and finished with gold leaf, a practice Julian uses derived from ‘kintsugi’.
