Echoes of Amphora - These new pieces represent the tension between two perceptions or dimensions of time and beauty. Firstly the 'century scale' of human civilisation and culture and our search for ultimate formal perfection, refinement and balance. The pursuit of an intellectual ideal of divine equilibrium or infinity. Secondly the ‘millenia scale’ of geological / organic evolution - chaotic, vital, imperfect, partial, surging disrupting tidy order -
