We are pleased to say that the Zaha Hadid and Gareth Neal vessels are already a huge success! designboom has featured them in its March edition in the ‘design’ section, see link below. These wooden vessels are part of a project presented by the American hardwood export council and Benchmark Furniture, originally exhibited at the Victoria and Albert Museum as part of ‘The Wish List’ during the London Design Festival 2014. Hidden within the fluid, futuristic computer modelled trails of these vessels, are traditionally hand thrown pots, juxtaposing craftsmanship and new technologies in woodwork.

They will be exclusively represented by Sarah Myerscough Gallery at COLLECT 2015 in May hosted at the Saatchi Gallery, London.

Gareth Neal at Museum of Arts and Design (MAD), New York, 19 March – 15 September, 2013 by ben mcleavy

Exhibition view, Museum of Arts and Design, 19 March - 15 September 2013

Gareth Neal’s stunning Five Drawer George English Ash is featured in Against the Grain: Wood in Contemporary Art, Craft and Design, a major group exhibition curated by Lowery Stokes Sims, Charles Bronfman and Elizabeth Edwards Kirrane which explores cutting-edge conceptual and technical trends in contemporary woodworking. The drawer was made thanks to hand-carving techniques and computer-controlled routing machinery, hence merging traditional craft and contemporary design. The exhibition, which first opened earlier in the year at the Mint Museum in Charlotte, will run at the Museum of Arts and Design New York until 15 September, 2013 and will then continue touring to the Museum of Art in Fort Lauderdale, in Florida. A catalogue has been published to accompany the show.
