Eleanor Lakelin’s ‘Matrix #I’ forms part of a new series in which the artist redefines her dialogue with horse chestnut burr. In this work, the organic complexity of the burr is disciplined into a grid of rows and columns, a compositional logic that translates growth and fragmentation, central motifs in Lakelin’s practice, into a new material topology. 'Matrix #I' embodies a deliberate concentration and calibration of the burr’s innate vitality, offering a rearticulation of its energy through order, rhythm, and restraint.Join our mailing list
