The Gateway series sees Lakelin undoing the vessel form, and reconfiguring a language of passage and transformation amidst carved thresholds. Sculpted intuitively in the moment with no historical referent, form is released from the tensions between natural chaos and cultural containment that characterise her Echoes of Amphora series. These new works carry undulations of burr into an altogether different realm.
